Pittsburgh Steelers

Week 6, Home Game

How the Chiefs might lose

Back to back prime-time games, one of which is on the road is a tall order for the Chiefs to bounce back from. What makes such a thing even harder is having to face the Steelers after that back-to-back.

The Steelers are 3-1 and control of the AFC North after they took care of business in Baltimore. They play the Jaguars at home in Week 5 so they will probably be 4-1, barring Ben Roethlisberger laying an egg like Joe Flacco did.

Pittsburgh has an abundance of weapons on offense, and rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster is starting to come into his own. Not to mention the return of Martavis Bryant who has yet to hit his stride, and contribute to this offense to the level we all know he can.

Kansas City has one of the best defenses in football, but we saw on Monday night against the Redskins that it’s hardly invincible. If not for a dropped touchdown pass, the Chiefs lose to Washington and we’re not even having this conversation. Pittsburgh has a good offense that you don’t want to allow momentum to swing its way.

How the Chiefs can win

Fortunately for the Chiefs, this game has revenge narrative written all over it. Not only did the Steelers beat the living daylights out of Kansas City last season on Sunday Night Football, but they also ended the Chiefs season without scoring a single touchdown.

The other good news is that this game is at home.

Hopefully by the time this game rolls around the Chiefs will have Dee Ford back, and center Mitch Morse. Adding back those two veteran pieces will only help soldify a Chiefs roster that already seems to be the most complete in all of football.

The Chiefs were also without middle linebacker Derrick Johnson during that playoff game last year, which is another variable. The Steelers are currently the 10th worst team against the run, and the Chiefs are the best. You can see where I’m going with this; we should see a heavy dose of Kareem Hunt who is borderline impossible to tackle.
