While fans eager await for the next Halo, a new game, Halo: Fireteam Raven, will be hitting arcades this summer.

Halo has continuously been one of the biggest staples in gaming, revolutionizing the first-person shooter genre and multiplayer gameplay with each new entry. With it being nearly three years since the last entry in the series, fans have been anticipating when the next game will be announced. Today, that announcement has arrived, but it may not be quite what fans expect.

The next Halo game won’t be hitting the Xbox One, but rather it will be featured in your local Dave and Busters. That’s right, the new Halo: Fireteam Raven will be an arcade title that will be hitting D&B locations in the US and Canada this summer.

More from Gaming

The game will be set during Halo: Combat Evolved and follow the soldiers of Fireteam Raven on Alpha Hero. In this arcade experience, gamers will be fighting alongside Master Chief in order to defeat the growing Covenant forces. In this four-player experience, gamers can either team up or compete as they duel it out on 130-inch 4k screen. Along with the announcement came a new trailer and statement from developer Raw Thrills, check it out:

"“Halo: Fireteam Raven is without a doubt, the most spectacular arcade experience we’ve ever made. After years of development it is now ready.” – Raw Thrills CEO Eugene Jarvis"

With almost every major property having its own arcade tie-in, its no surprise that Halo is joining the arcade fight. The solid gameplay and impressive graphics displayed in the trailer are sure to give Halo die-hards something to enjoy while they await the announcement of the latest Halo game. With E3 2018 just around the corner, I wouldn’t be surprised if Halo 6 is one of the cornerstone topics for Microsoft’s conference.

Halo: Fireteam Raven is set to hit Dave and Busters’ arcades sometime this summer.
