Baltimore Ravens: Is this the last season of Joe Flacco as the starter?

Let us get down to business with this one. Ever since Joe Flacco went on that magical run and led the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl title, he has not been the same quarterback. Now, it looks like his tenure as the starter in Baltimore could be coming to an end.

In 2018, Flacco is certain to start the season out as the starter, and the team did a nice job bringing in some weapons this offseason to help him. However, they made a strange move at the end of the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, when they traded back in to take Lamar Jackson with the final pick of the round.

For those of you who do not know Jackson, he is only a Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from Louisville. While other teams wanted to move him to wide receiver, the Ravens obviously saw enough of him as a quarterback to make him possibly their quarterback of the future.

A team does not trade up into the first round to draft a quarterback if they do not have serious questions about what they currently have on their roster. Baltimore also brought in Robert Griffin III this offseason, so Flacco will have more competition than he ever has this summer.

Baltimore nearly made the playoffs last season, and Flacco played well at times. The problem is, he is just not a consistent contributor from the most important position on the field, and that could spell the end of his run as the starting quarterback in Baltimore.
