Atlanta Falcons: What can Calvin Ridley add to this offense?

Two years ago, the Atlanta Falcons looked to be on their way towards their first Super Bowl win ever. They were absolutely destroying the New England Patriots, holding a 28-3 lead late in the third quarter.

Last season, the Falcons stumbled out of the gate, but rebounded in time to become one three NFC South teams to make the playoffs. They have a tremendous group of talented players on both sides of the ball, and added an electric wide receiver in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Falcons already have incredible talent at the wide receiver, and they may have the best in the game in Julio Jones. Aside from Jones, they have guys like Mohamed Sanu and Justin Hardy, both of whom came make big plays happen with the ball in their hands. Still, Jones always draws the best cornerback, which can lead to him being shut down on occasion.

Despite the depth, the Falcons drafted Calvin Ridley with that first round pick, and he can bring something so special to this offense. He is a playmaking machine, and despite not playing in a pass-happy offense at Alabama, he still made his presence felt in the biggest of moments.

Quarterback Matt Ryan is one of the best in the game, and adding Ridley to an already dangerous unit will make the Falcons arguably the best offense in football next season. Ridley can not only stretch the field, but can also go over the middle, giving Matty Ice a player who can take serious pressure off of Jones in the passing game.
