3. New York Giants

The optics of the Jets sending a quarterback across town to the Giants might be difficult for both teams, but this is a move that would make a lot of sense. Bridgewater would give the Giants an experienced alternative to Eli Manning under center.

Loads of NFL personnel gave Dave Gettleman and Co. a lot of stick for failing to draft a quarterback in April. That’s a fair criticism. The way Manning played last season raises serious questions over whether or not he can be a quality starter in 2018. Saquon Barkley is a terrific talent, but the Giants may regret not taking a big time quarterback instead.

Unless you’re a believer in Davis Webb’s talent, it’s clear the Giants will need to acquire a potential replacement for Manning in the near future. Using a high draft pick is one way to accomplish that, but swinging a deal for a young potential starter like Bridgewater is an interesting potential alternative.

Stylistically, he could be a great fit with the Giants’ current offensive personnel. The presence of Barkley in the backfield means a lot of the passing game will be built on play action. That’s an area of the game where Bridgewater can really excel. Having targets like Odell Beckham Jr. and Evan Engram wouldn’t hurt his production either.

This is a deal that could really benefit both teams. Time will tell whether or not both New York franchises have the nerve to make such a high-profile deal.
