Houston Texans – Bruce Ellington

The Houston Texans looked like a powerhouse at times last season. Unfortunately, with injury the team faded at the end of the year. This year, with a healthy quarterback and defense, they hope to win the AFC South. A lot of success will rest upon Deshaun Watson in year two. If he can duplicate what he showed early in the season last year, look out. The Texans may be a tough team to beat.

Ellington looked very good in the early part of last season. It appeared that he may be used as the slot guy to burn corner backs off of the line. However, like many other Texans, Bruce Ellington went down with injury. Early reports out Texans training camp suggest that he has looked good. Look for him to be open early and often because of the other weapons on the team. He may rack up a lot of yardage this season.

Indianapolis Colts – Marlon Mack

The Colts have some optimism for the first time in awhile. Andrew Luck is throwing a football again. After what has seemed like an eternity for Colts fans, Luck will likely start this season. If he can return to where he was pre-injury, the Colts have a real chance at having a winning record and perhaps a division title. The battle for the AFC South may be the tightest race in football.

Mack will likely get the nod as the Colts number one option at running back this season. In a modest capacity last season, Mack looked promising. He was a rookie last season and was not going to unseat the starter at the time, Frank Gore. Mack possesses decent speed and glides through contact at the line of scrimmage. He has a good balance and can break tackles in open field.  With uncertainty in the passing game, he brings stability to the offense. Mack could have a breakout season.
