Baltimore Ravens – Jamal Lewis

The Baltimore Ravens came about when team owner Art Modell decided to move his Cleveland Browns to the City of Baltimore. However, in order to do so, he had to leave all the Browns records in Cleveland, and begin life in Baltimore as a brand new franchise, although all of his players came with him.

That year was 1996, and by the time the Browns returned to Cleveland in 1999, the Ravens were already building something special. They would make the playoffs for the first time in 2000, and ride that momentum all the way to the Super Bowl, where they beat the New York Giants pretty soundly by the score of 34-7.

The defense in Baltimore during that time was one of the best in Super Bowl history, and it is from that time that any Ravens fan should own a throwback jersey. Those purple jerseys from over 15 years ago are something special, and while they wore their white jersey in the Super Bowl, the purple is the must-have.

The Ravens are one of those rare franchise who have not changed their look too much, adding some color to the numbers, and eventually adopting an alternate black uniform.

Baltimore has had quite a run since Modell moved the team, making the playoffs ten times, and adding a second Super Bowl title in 2012. They have fallen on some mediocre times since that Super Bowl title, but they have added some nice weapons this offseason, and should challenge in the AFC North this Fall.
