Stats: three catches for 78 yards

There have been plenty of rumors circling around about the possibility of the Denver Broncos trading one of their veteran wide receivers. One of the latest rumors has the New England Patriots interested in Demaryius Thomas.

If Denver were to move either Thomas or Emmanuel Sanders than Courtland Sutton would be in line for more targets.

The Broncos have slowly worked Sutton into action with around four targets per game. So far, Sutton has been more of a big-play threat averaging just below 20 yards per catch. However, his workload and targets would absolutely increase if a trade takes place.

Denver is in a tough position as they aren’t completely out of the playoff picture just yet. However, they are quickly losing ground. They’re basically battling for a wildcard spot with the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers in control of the AFC West.

They may decide that they’re better off cutting ties with some veteran players in order to give the younger players more opportunities. No position on their roster meets that criteria better than the wide receiver spot.

Sutton would be a good speculative add with the trade deadline right around the corner.
