49. Henry Anderson, DE

Anderson found new life in New York after the Indianapolis Colts traded the former 2015 third-round pick to the Jets for a 2018 seventh-round pick after the additions of head coach, Frank Reich, and defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus saw Indy’s defense go from a 3-4 scheme to a 4-3. The 27-year-old defensive end enjoyed his best season to date in ex-head coach, Todd Bowles’ 3-4 defensive scheme, finishing the 2018 season with seven sacks.

Before providing the Jets with his consistent pass rush, Anderson struggled to stay healthy early into his career missing 18 games for the Colts in the three seasons he spent there. After only having three sacks over those three seasons, the pass-rusher found his niche in New York playing the entire 16 game season while finishing with a 76.5 grade according to Pro Football Focus that was ranked 38th best among defensive lineman.

Bowles’ dismissal makes Anderson expendable for the Jets as they move to a 4-3 scheme under defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Anderson’s best fit is a 3-4 defensive end and a team like The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are transitioning to a 3-4 front under Bruce Arians and with Anderson’s former head coach, Todd Bowles, could use his pass rush services.
