The NFL offseason is right around the corner and here are the top 50 free agents for 2019.

The start of NFL free agency is one of the league’s most exciting offseason events. Here are the top 50 players that will be searching for new deals come March 13.

50. Kwon Alexander, LB

Alexander is the first to start the list at No. 50.  Admittedly, this is low for a player of middle linebacker’s caliber, but his inconsistent tackling to go along with coming off a season-ending injury is what dropped him this far. A defensive-minded head coach, like Mike Zimmer of the Minnesota Vikings for example, would benefit Alexander greatly if the linebacker leaves Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers took Alexander in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and he’s appeared in 46 starts for the team the last four seasons. The biggest knock on Alexander is the missed tackles he’s accumulated. Throughout his four-year career, the Buccaneers’ linebacker has missed 78 tackles, which is an alarming number for a ‘MIKE’ linebacker.

Tampa Bay appears to be transitioning to a 3-4 defense with Bruce Arians’ and Todd Bowles’ arrival. This transition could kick Lavonte David to the inside linebacker spot, while possibly pairing him with 2017 third-round pick Kendell Beckwith (who missed 2017 due to a broken ankle), or Alexander’s potential replacement in the draft.
