DraftKings PGA: 2019 BMW Championship Picks

Dustin Johnson 10,700

DJ has struggled to his standards for the past few months. That concerns me slightly, but DJ on a bombers course makes me feel more comfortable. He is one of the best golfers in the world with his short and long irons. That will take him very far in this field, with 4 par-5’s. DJ seems to take his game to another level during the Fedex Cup Playoffs.

DJ ranks 10th in my model, but does exactly what I am looking for from the 4th heighest priced golfer. He is 3rd in driving distance, 3rd in BOB, 5th in opportunities gained, he is a solid bentgrass putter, and his game flashed at the Northern Trust. Given the ownership discount, DJ is the guy at the top who will get my salary.

Rickie Fowler 8,800

Ricky Fowler burned a lot of DFSers last week with a missed cut. I was overweight on Ricky, and I am going back to the well. He had not played golf since the British Open, so I will take the rust in stride. He is underpriced this week in DraftKings, and I will exploit it.

He has been playing solid for the entire year, and will be determined to bounce back and have a good cap to the season. Fowler is a big game hunter (despite not winning them), and seems to shine when the lights are the hottest. His game should set up well for Medinah, as he is a master with long irons and around/on the greens.

Tony Finau 8,500

Finau will likely be popular this week given the price-tag and his distance off the tee. This course should set up well for the bomber (not every hole, but the course is 7,613 yards), and DFS players know that.

Finau has been playing better golf as of late with finishes of T23, 3rd at the British Open, and a T27. At the Northern Trust, he gained strokes in every facet of his game except putting, which is uncharacteristic of Finau. His irons are back and he prefers Bentgrass over other putting surfaces. This is too cheap for finau, and he has the game to contend here.
