EPL DFS – Value Attackers

Oliver McBurnie (Sheffield United @ Watford, $12) – Sheffield United is a big juxtaposition on Saturday.  They’re facing the clear worst team in the league who are giving up an average of 2.9 goals per game which should be a prime matchup for any opposing striker like McBurnie.  However, 5 players have scored for Sheffield this year and none of them have scored more than 1, so it is a difficult task to pick the one that will.  He and Callum Robinson ($12) have the team’s best odds to score, but Robinson rarely gets any peripheral stats at all.  McBurnie doesn’t provide many peripherals either, but I’m really looking for a cheap goal.

Perhaps the best play here is Oliver Norwood ($14) for a few more bucks.  He has not scored or provided an assist this season and he likely won’t in this game either.  He does, however, lead the team in chances created which he should be able to get plenty of in this game.  He also adds in defensive peripherals at a better rate than Robinson and McBurnie.  If you have the salary, Norwood is clearly the top play to take advantage of this matchup with Robinson or McBurnie fair GPP plays.

Marvelous Nakamba (Aston Villa @ Norwich, $11) – This is the 3rd straight time I’m writing up Nakamba, but he is still a good value play after his price increase.  Nakamba has 2 straight 16+ point games based solely on peripherals.  I expect a ton of action all over the field in this game, which should be great for Nakamba.  Like I’ve said in past EPL DFS Breakdowns, he won’t come with any attacking upside but I’m more than fine paying $11 for him and relying on his ability to collect peripherals.  He’s viable in any format to save some money.

Tom Cleverley (Sheffield United @ Watford, $10) – I have hardly written up any Watford players at all this season with the way they’ve been stinking up the league.  However, this is a matchup where I can against Sheffield.  Cleverley is only the 5th most likely Watford starter to score, but I’m more here for chances created and a few other peripherals while saving some money.  If Watford was on the road, I would not have any interest, but Cleverley is one of the better value attackers on this slate where value attackers are hard to come by.  He’s as low as I would go on Saturday at FWD/MID.
