NBA Preseason DFS: Dallas @ Detroit

Dallas: Dwight Powell and JJ. Barea are OUT.

Detroit: No injuries.

Dallas is playing their second game in two nights and decided last night to rest their stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Doncic was highly owned last night and burned a lot of people, but as long as we expect him to play tonight he is an elite play in all formats. I am not ready to roster “the Unicorn” just yet as I think he will likely have a strict minutes limit but it will be exciting to see him back on the floor tonight.

Both teams have played once already in the preseason, so we have a glimpse at what some of these guys can do. Dallas played 16 guys last night and none of the starters played more than 15 minutes. Maybe we get more like 16-20 minutes from a few guys tonight, but Rick Carlisle is just not a coach who is going to push guys to play minutes in the preseason.

The Pistons played only three players 20 minutes or more on Monday and they were Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson, and Luke Kennard. I’ll continue to avoid Blake Griffin who is recovering from an injury last season and offseason surgery and there’s not a lot to love on this Pistons team in the backcourt or on the wings. Derrick Rose did play well off the bench as I expected on Monday, posting 10-4-3 but played only 14 minutes.

The guy I’m watching is Christian Wood, the Pistons third-string center who is battling for one of the final roster spots. He went for 19-8 with a block in 19 minutes on Monday and has been a very productive fantasy player when he gets minutes in the past.

Elite Plays: Luka Doncic, Christian Wood,

Also, Consider: Derrick Rose, Andre Drummond
