3. Jacksonville Jaguars

This one feels like an extremely obvious choice. The Jacksonville Jaguars have fallen a long way from their run to the AFC Championship back in 2017, and in 2019, they ended up with a last-place finish in the AFC South and watched two teams from their division reach the divisional round of the playoffs.

Last offseason, the Jaguars decided to go all in and signed quarterback Nick Foles to a four-year deal with $50 million guaranteed. In their 2019 opener, Foles broke his collarbone, and they brought in Gardner Minshew, who caught fire and got Jacksonville some wins early in the season. The quarterback controversy brewed, as they flipped back and forth between starters down the stretch of the season.

The Jaguars now have Foles’ big contract, and it doesn’t feel like he or Minshew is the long-term answer at quarterback. This team could be in serious contention for the top overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, meaning that it’s possible Doug Marrone gets canned and the team starts over. A new start means a new quarterback, so Trevor Lawrence could fall right into their laps at the top spot. He would enter a fun division and ignite a franchise that’s been searching for an answer at the quarterback spot.
