2020 NFL Draft: 5 best fits for Jordan Love
3. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers amicably moved on from Philip Rivers this offseason, and their pursuit of Tom Brady apparently went right to the end before he chose the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Speculation about them eventually signing Cam Newton is not going away, despite multiple professions of commitment to Tyrod Taylor as the starting quarterback for 2020.
With the sixth overall pick, the Chargers will be in position to take one of the top quarterback prospects. An early second-round pick (No. 37) also gives them a chance to take a solid prospect if they go another direction in the first round.
The Chargers could win a lot of games with Taylor under center this year. He is also an ideal bridge quarterback, in line with the direction they now seem to be moving in at the position. They could take Love at No. 6, let him sit behind Taylor and develop for a year, then have their next quarterback for a decade-plus. That all sounds a little too perfect, but the Chargers are absolutely a fit for Love.
