Day 3

5th Round

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Kamal Martin will have some man-to-man shortcomings in coverage at the next level. He can shoot gaps and had two interceptions vs. Purdue so he can help out in coverage. He is a solid tackler with good instincts but may be best served on special teams or as a reserve.

6th Round

Jon Runyan, Jr. is the son of a former NFL player and brings versatility to the Packers. Runyan started the last two years at Michigan at the left tackle position and has also played right tackle but his future should be as a guard.

Jake Hansen comes from a program that had one of the better offensive lines in college last year. But it wasn’t necessarily because of Hansen. That said, it’s more depth for an offensive line. And there may be some scheme versatility where he can line up at a guard spot in a pinch. Could be a practice squad candidate.

OT. Simon Stepaniak. 30. player. 813. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Indiana

The 6-foot-4, 313-pound Simon Stepaniak is more depth for the offensive line. The Packers look like they’re going with the quantity approach and hoping one of these Day 3 linemen will be a contributor.

7th Round

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Vernon Scott will look to make an impact on all phases of special teams initially as a rookie. If he makes the roster, he’ll then look to make an impact as a reserve safety.

Not a bad idea to bet on a guy from Miami even if Miami isn’t the Miami of old. Jonathan Garvin has good size at 6-foot-4 and 263 pounds. Has some tools to work with if he can be stashed on a practice squad to get a little stronger and improve his technique.
