Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The offseason plans for the Buccaneers quickly changed after Tom Brady decided to choose them in free agency. A team that may have been in the market to draft a quarterback before Brady’s decision had to change their draft plans.

Tristan Wirfs falling to them at 13 was unexpected. However, Bruce Arians will welcome the tackle with open arms. He will start right away and be tasked with the ever-important job of keeping a clean pocket for Brady.

Later in the second round, Arians took safety Antoine Winfield. Like Wirfs, Winfield will become a starter instantly.

They also added some depth with receiver Tyler Johnson in the fifth and selected a backup running back with Ke’Shawn Vaughn.

Indianapolis Colts

Chris Ballard turned the team’s 2019 first-round pick into DeForest Buckner this offseason. Therefore, they didn’t make any picks in Round 1.

Round 2, Ballard made three picks. The first was taking receiver Michael Pittman for Philip Rivers. Then, he added another weapon for this signal caller with running back Jonathan Taylor.

With Rivers the short-term answer, the team took Jacob Eason at pick 122. This was a smart move as he can sit and learn from Rivers.

Ballard also addressed the line and defense, rounding out a strong draft. He positioned the team to win now and in the near future. Not bad for a team without a pick in the first.
