Washington Redskins

Day 1 was easy for the Redskins. At number two, they drafted Ohio State standout Chase Young. Easily the best defensive player in the draft, and perhaps the best player overall as well.

Young has been compared to former Ohio State Buckeye Nick Bosa. If that is the case, Young will create chaos in the NFC East for years.

After Young, Antonio Gibson was selected. He is a very interesting prospect, as he can line up at wide receiver but also takes reps at running back.

Trent Williams was traded before the start of the final day. Saahdiq Charles out of LSU was selected, presumably to be groomed as the Williams’ replacement.

Antonio Gandy-Golden was taken in the fourth round as well, and this is another high upside pick.

Charles is more of a project, and Gibson might become a force. Outside of Young, Ron Rivera took some raw talent. This can either be good or bad. We will see and the gamble may be worth it.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Not too many people seem to be talking about the strong draft from the Steelers. Even without a first-round pick due to the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade, Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert turned in a nice card in Day 2.

While it was only two picks, Tomlin got a unique wide receiver and a linebacker to help sure up the defense.

Chase Claypool was taken at 49. He is a big receiver out of Notre Dame, but he may project more as a tight end in the NFL. Think Evan Engram. Alex Highsmith was the linebacker taken out of UNC-Charlotte.

Tomlin is giving weapons to his quarterback, and stabilizing the defense with a high-motor edge rusher.g

The team was more active on the final day, selecting the likes of running back Anthony McFarland and guard Kevin Dotson.
