The future of gaming was on display for fans all over the world to see thanks to the brilliant efforts of the spectacular affair’s gracious hosts, Sony Interactive Entertainment. The event concluded with the highly anticipated unveiling of the PlayStation 5’s console’s sleek, new design as well as other game-changing features.

But leading up to the reveal of the system that will revolutionize the world of gaming like never before were some genuinely epic titles that only massively add to the hype surrounding this soon-to-be video game phenomenon. Of all the breathtaking trailers displayed, these are five that everyone will most certainly be the most excited to play.

Gran Turismo 7

The critically acclaimed and iconic gaming series is racing its way to the PS5 to be arguably its most impressive title showcased at the reveal event. For as far back as anyone can remember, Gran Turismo has set the bar very high for racing games and has been revered as the G.O.A.T. by many. The preview for its latest entry, Gran Turismo 7 showcased the graphic power of the PS5 with some incredible images from the luxuriously detailed interiors of the beautifully rendered cars to the radiant designs of the thrilling race tracks. Gran Turismo has always been a major crowd pleaser and a heavy hitter for Sony, and the seventh installment shows no signs of slowing down in either of those departments.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Insomniac’s Spider-Man game was incredibly popular with fans, and many have been looking forward to a fantastic follow-up featuring more of the world-renowned Marvel characters. Now it seems fans are getting their wish with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The character who starred in the Academy Award-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and who was featured throughout the previous game will be taking the reigns as the go-to webhead this time around. This will be a full game following the events of the first Spider-Man game for PS4 but will be a bit smaller in size. Either way, Morales has become a huge fan favorite, and getting to take control of him will have fans eager to web-sling through the city on their Sony PS5.

NBA 2K21

Rookie sensation and future all-star Zion Williamson did the honors of unveiling NBA 2K21 and promptly warned fans that they were not ready for what they were about to experience. The speed of the game has been described as unrecognizable, and the detail in graphics has been promised to be next-level. The trailer did not disappoint one bit as the visuals were simply amazing. The impeccable attention to detail down to every drop of sweat was absolutely magnificent and unprecedented. 2K definitely took full advantage of the advanced graphics capabilities the PS5 contains, and fans will be more than grateful when they get their hand on this slam dunk of a title.

Resident Evil Village

The Resident Evil franchise has ironically been brought back from the dead in recent years with its hugely successful remakes and reboots. Resident Evil Village looks to continue that trend as the eighth installment in the legendary Capcom franchise that will maintain the first-person perspective of Resident Evil 7 as well as its nightmarish narrative. The haunting promo finishes things off with the reveal of the one and only Chris Redfield, who is apparently switching things up and playing more of an antagonistic role, only adding to the many reasons fans will line up for weeks just to get their ticket to the Village where the residents are presumably evil.

Horizon Forbidden West

There is no way Guerilla Games was going to miss PS5’s big debut. The famous outfit in the world of gaming was there for PlayStation 4’s debut with Killzone: Shadowsfall and Horizon Zero Dawn helped prove the PS4 Pro’s 4K abilities. Now for Sony’s next console, they are bringing gamers the sequel with no equal they’ve been waiting for with Horizon Forbidden West. The visually stunning teaser indicated that the game would continue Aloy’s perilous journey to find out the truth about how civilization collapsed. Players will be introduced to gorgeously realized environments and a slew of new robotic dinosaur enemies to vanquish. It’s not hard to believe many will have this alluring title at the top of their wishlist.
