Cleveland Browns: 3 players who won’t be on the roster after 2020 season
By Scott Rogust
Remember when running backs were highly thought of players in the NFL? Yeah, those were good times. Now, if a rusher is set to hit the open market, no team is knocking on their door to give them record-breaking deals.
For Kareem Hunt, he’s got two things against him. One, he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2021.Two, he was signed by Dorsey, the ex-GM. Those don’t work in Hunt’s favor.
The Browns gave Hunt a chance after the Kansas City Chiefs released him due to off-field issues. Dorsey did a solid for his former 2017 draft pick by giving him a second chance. Hunt only played in eight games last season (due to suspension) and rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns on 43 carries, while also catching 37 passes for 285 yards and a score.
No matter if Hunt puts up extraordinary numbers, we’d put money on Berry opting to use a mid-round pick on his replacement in 2021. Let’s face it, the starting running back’s job is Nick Chubb’s for the foreseeable future.
