With a new general manager, it’s all hands on deck for the Cleveland Browns.

The Cleveland Browns could see some further changes to the roster under new general manager Andrew Berry.

Earlier this year, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam had seen enough from the John Dorsey/Freddie Kitchens regime. They built a team that appeared destined for a playoff berth, but settled on a 6-10 season marred by poor play and excruciating coaching.

Once again, there’s hope for the Browns, as they hired Berry as their new front office leader and Kevin Stefanski as the new sideline boss. The team brought in top free agents in Jack Conklin and Austin Hooper, and had one of the best NFL Draft classes of the year. But the job isn’t done for Berry, as he can further mold the team into his image, and that could come at the expense of impending free agents and players under contract for the foreseeable future.

3. player. Pick Analysis. S. Karl Joseph. Scouting Report. Cleveland Browns. 53

Karl Joseph was brought in to Cleveland to help bolster a secondary that was arguably their biggest weakness last season. That can definitely be attributed to the slew of young defensive backs that were thrusted into the starting lineup.

Nonetheless, Berry had faith that Joseph can help provide leadership in the defensive backfield.

While that’s cool and all, you can’t look over the fact that Joseph isn’t a slam dunk signing. He never lived up to his first-round selection by the Raiders in 2016. This is a safety who recorded one interception in each of his four NFL seasons.

Furthermore, he’s shown that he’s incapable of staying healthy for a full year. In 2019, he suffered a season-ending foot injury after picking off then-Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers.

If Joseph doesn’t play well in Cleveland, Joseph shouldn’t expect to receive an offer from Berry in 2021.
