4. Washington Redskins

Washington’s running back room has the potential to be great next year, but there are a lot of questions they need to answer right now.

Derrius Guice runs like a bowling ball going downhill, but he has just 42 carries in two seasons due to his inability to stay healthy. Adrian Peterson is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but he’s 35 years old. Rookie Antonio Gibson looks like a stud, but he played both wide receiver and running back at Memphis, and Ron Rivera might deploy him in a similar role as a rookie.

Trading for Mostert, which wouldn’t require the rebuilding Redskins to part with a ton of draft picks, would give them an unquestioned RB1 with more big-play potential than either Peterson or Guice can provide at this juncture.

With a coach in Rivera that likes to run the ball and a second-year quarterback in Dwayne Haskins that need playmakers in the backfield and at wide receiver, Washington really needs to consider scrounging up enough assets to acquire Mostert.
