Tom Brady is excited to make his Tampa Bay debut.

Even though the words still sound as hard to believe as they were when he originally made the move, former New England Patriots quarterback and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers gunslinger Tom Brady is ready to take the field with his new teammates for the first time.

Brady has been chomping at the bit to take the field in Tampa, and he’ll finally get to scratch that itch against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints today. In traditional Brady fashion, he put out a hype video on his Twitter to get Bucs fans excited about the 2020 season.

Tom Brady has a tough test ahead of him in the Saints

The Saints have one of the most high-octane offenses in the league, and a defense full of Pro Bowlers on all three levels could give Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich headaches. The scheduling gurus certainly wanted to stretch TB12 to breaking point in his first Tampa action.

Not only will Brady have to take on the Saints while operating a very complex Arians vertical offense, but he’ll do so with a still murky backfield situation complicated by the arrival of Leonard Fournette and top wide receiver target Mike Evans dealing with a nagging injury. However, if history has shown us anything, Brady has shown he can win consistently without an elite supporting cast, so there is a good chance his game later today could be more of the same.

Brady will be thrown into the fire in Tampa, as his first game in pewter comes against arguably the best team in the NFC on the road following an offseason with minimal contact with his new teammates. Still, this is Brady we’re talking about, so a win might still be in the cards.

Next. Tom Brady is actually an underdog. dark
