Aaron Jones – Green Bay Packers

Though much of the focus through the first two weeks of the Packers’ searing start to the season on offense has been on quarterback Aaron Rodgers, just as impressive has been the form of starting running back Jones.

After finding the endzone in the Packers’ Week 1 win over the Minnesota Vikings, Jones shredded a dreadful Detroit Lions defense in Green Bay’s 42-21 victory in Sunday’s home opener at Lambeau Field.

Jones averaged 9.3 yards per carry as he racked up 168 yards on 18 carries and ran for two scores. Through the air, Jones caught four of his eight targets for 68 yards and another touchdown.

His monster day resulted in Jones ending Sunday with the most fantasy points of Week 2 in both PPR and standard-scoring leagues.

Should the Packers offense continue in the same vein, Jones will stay among the top scorers in fantasy football throughout the season.

The Packers’ selection of A.J. Dillon in the second round of this year’s draft has had a minimal impact on Jones’ workload and, with the passing game clicking to devastating effect early in the season, Jones should find plenty of room to run courtesy of the respect opponents will have to pay Rodgers’ aerial attack.

Green Bay is rolling to start the year, and Jones is firmly in the mix to be the top fantasy back in the league.
