College football DFS quarterback picks November 17:

Top Tier:

Dustin Crum nearly hit 30 against Bowling Green last week. That should be the barometer for this week as well. Crum has the highest floor of any quarterback, but I don’t know that he has huge upside. Crum didn’t play the fourth quarter against the Falcons and likely wont here either. Kent has a shot at the MAC title. They aren’t going to endanger Crum once this game is out of hand.

This is a great matchup for Kyle Vantrease, but he likely faces the same fate as Crum last week. The price difference here is only $300, so I’ll take the better mobility of Crum and the lesser run game of Kent here. Buffalo will just run over the Falcons for the most part.

Middle Tier:

We saw Collin Schlee put up over 20 DraftKings points in a little over a quarter in the blowout win over Bowling Green. He should get some garbage time play against Akron as well. The question here is whether Schlee can outscore either of the other two starters in a quarter of action. I tend to think that last week was mostly a fluke.

Bargain Shoppers:

Zach Gibson has been serviceable as Akron’s quarterback, but he’s not going to put up a ton of points. We are asking if he will outscore a RB or receiver priced at $5,100 or less. Most likely he will, but there are receivers that will do better than him. Gibson is not a lock at superflex.

Neither is Matt McDonald. McDonald was a dreadful 6-20 passing against Kent and barely broke 100 passing yards. This Buffalo defense might be even better. McDonald doesn’t seem to be in any danger of losing his job, but he’s likely still overpriced even at $4,800.
