One of the biggest blunders of Lynn’s down season was his final drive against his former team. Instead of spiking the ball without any timeouts, Los Angeles attempted to run, pass and then go for a quarterback sneak despite the Buffalo Bills showing an all-out blitz package.

Was it a foolish move for the Chargers? Sure. Does the pairing of Lynn and Josh Allen make sense? No question about it.

Brian Daboll might be gone when the season is over, as his transformation of Allen may earn him a head coaching opportunity. Allen, who has grown into one of the better deep-ball passers, still needs someone who can work with him in developing better pocket awareness. The first two years with Rivers and this season with Herbert shows that Lynn knows how to make quarterbacks feel comfortable despite a limited offensive line.

Allen is transforming into the next mobile quarterback, but he’s built like Ben Roethlisberger. Add in a wild yet talented receiving corp and a sound offensive line, and Lynn would have trouble struggling here. Overall, Lynn’s play designs would fit well with his former team, earning the chance to be the OC for longer than a few weeks.
