Scouting Report. Robert Saleh. 3. player. 42. Pick Analysis. DC. San Francisco 49ers

Not only will the Falcons have to compete with several other teams for Saleh’s services, but they will also have one team standing out above the rest, as the Michigan-born Saleh has been heavily linked to the Detroit Lions after they fired Matt Patricia. If the Lions manage to bungle their opportunity at Saleh, which isn’t out of the realm of possibility, the defensive-minded Saleh could head to a franchise that already has a tremendous offense in place.

Not only will Saleh bring with him a defensive mind that both helped the 49ers win the NFC in 2019 and remain competitive in 2020 despite key injuries at nearly every position, but he would bring with him volcanic energy that the mild-mannered Quinn just wasn’t able to conjure up. In such a tight division, that could be enough to get Atlanta over the hump.

The next time that the Falcons are on the verge of blowing a lead, Saleh’s signature bravado and suffocating defense could squash the possibility of choking, which could help Atlanta cement themselves as playoff contenders.
