The New Orleans Saints only continue to be robbed in the playoffs.
Two things that go together: the New Orleans Saints and robbed opportunities. In the NFC Wild Card Round, things were no different.
With just under five minutes remaining in the second quarter, Mitchell Trubisky targeted David Montgomery for the first down. The second-year running back was met at the line by P.J. Williams who knocked the ball loose.
Malcolm Jenkins took it back for a touchdown, giving New Orleans a 14-3 lead. Until the refs said it wasn’t a catch.
It only took a handful of seconds for Saints’ fans to blow up on Twitter on yet another missed call.
The Saints once again are screwed out of a play in their favor
Sometimes, people have to reach for facts that are happening in normal life.
There are two things tht you can expect in America...

1.) Political parties being in a outrage during an election year.
2.) The refs screwing the Saints in the playoffs. #NFLPlayoffs #DrewBrees #Saints pic.twitter.com/9ju7Pk13k5
Others believe that the referees were actually correct on the play. That won’t sit well down in the Bayou.
This is insane. Lol. The Saints are getting their hands held by the refs

Others believe that the refs are actually trying to convey a positive outlook for the Saints after three years of madness.
These refs are trying so hard to get the Saints that dub

That's 3 big breaks for the Saints:
— Quinten Krzysko (@ButkusStats) January 10, 2021
1. Dropped TD by Wims
2. Overturned INT with questionable evidence
3. BS unsportsmanlike call on Kmet for TOSSING THE BALL TO THE REFEREE
#Saints are going to challenge the play. Argument they're making is Montgomery turning up field is a football move which would make this a fumble (clearly recovered by New Orleans).

Get out of here. Not a fumble whatsoever. Incomplete pass. #DaBears #Saints #NFL

If they call that a fumble just quit playing the game. They just want the saints to move on at that point

The name in headline says it all.
that was a catch and fumble you cannot change my mind
— alyson ⚜️ (@whodatinphilly) January 10, 2021
Saints got robbed on that fumble
— Ahmedy™️ (@ahmedybaby) January 10, 2021
Ultimately, it was too close to call for either side.
PJ Williams delivered a hard hit that forced what looked like a fumble which Malcolm Jenkins returned for a touchdown but it was ruled an incomplete pass and the Saints are challenging

In a game this close, the Bears will have their chance to pick up a victory following receiving the ball in the second half. Brees’ inconsistencies passing downfield could be a problem for New Orleans passing attack.
Meanwhile, Trusbisky had a touchdown if not a dropped pass from Javon Wims in the end zone. If the second half is as crazy as the first, the Saints could be marching to another disappointing game.
