The Edmonton Oilers superstar showed that he’s, indeed, pretty good at hockey.

The 2021 season has not gotten off to the way the Edmonton Oilers would have liked. Entering Saturday night, the 3-6 Oilers team hosted the Toronto Maples Leafs (7-2), holders of first-place in the brand new Canada-exclusive North Division. While Toronto has been one of the best teams in the entire league this season, Connor McDavid showed them that he’s the best player in the whole league.

Holding a 2-1 lead over the Maple Leafs, Oilers defenseman Tyson Barrie passed the puck to McDavid in their own zone. The lightning-fast center skated the length of the ice through the Leafs to deke the puck past goaltender Frederick Anderson for the goal.

Seriously, words can’t do this justice. Watch for yourselves.

McDavis has secured the 2021 Goal of the Year award

With McDavid’s sixth goal of the season, he also extends his point streak to six games. Unfortunately, the 3-1 lead was squandered following goals by Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews and winger Zach Hyman to enter second intermission with a 3-3 tie.

McDavid played hero yet again, as he scored 42-seconds into overtime to give the Oilers the 4-3 win.

There’s no denying it — McDavid is the most electric player in the NHL, and this goal proved it.
