ACC Conference Tournament

  • Dates: March 9-13
  • Location: Greensboro, NC
  • Venue: Greensboro Coliseum
  • Top Seed: Virginia
  • Bracket

The ACC had a down year in 2020 and is on track for a slightly better year in 2021. The conference should send seven teams to the NCAA Tournament and could gain an eighth if Syracuse is able to make some noise in Greensboro.

One of those teams won’t be Duke, which enters the conference tournament at 11-11 overall and needs to win the event to get back to the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils start with Boston College on Tuesday before having to deal with a potential path of Louisville, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Virginia on their way to the title.

The top seed here is Virginia, which won the ACC’s regular-season title despite losing three games in a row in late February. The Cavaliers have a double-bye to the quarterfinals and could draw Syracuse first in a game that could be massive for the Orange’s bubble dreams.

The intrigue comes on the bottom half of the bracket where Florida State, Virginia Tech, Louisville and North Carolina could create some intriguing quarterfinal matchups. The Seminoles and Hokies have both topped Virginia this year so it won’t be shocking to see either do it again in Greensboro.

Prediction: Florida State
