Tre Brown . player. CB. Oklahoma. 102. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 42

Remember how there still is no indication on if Verrett can be a No. 1 corner? That makes the quarterback position that much more important to address in April’s draft.

Despite being on the small size, Brown has shown his ability to cover anyone during his days as a Sooner. The 5-foot-10 corner is much stronger than he looks, playing the physical side as his x-factor. The same could be said about his quick bursts in coverage that allow him to play well in man.

Brown might be better suited off as a slot defender than on the outside. K’Waun Williams is only returning on a one-year deal, meaning he could be gone should he regress. Brown would have a season to learn Ryans’ scheme before taking over inside.

If he’s good enough, maybe the 49ers allow him to thrive on the outside as well.
