1. A trade opportunity opens for Kyle Pitts

Yes, Dallas needs to address the secondary, but Kyle Pitts is an elite playmaker. Prospects like Pitts don’t come around every year. Jerry Jones has already committed to Dak Prescott. Now is the time to give him the ultimate weapon.

Everyone knows Jones is smitten with Pitts. Sure, he shot down rumors of trading up to get him by saying Dallas wouldn’t “spend inordinate value” to get it done. That’s hardly a denial of the possibility.

The Cowboys won’t break the bank to get Pitts. They could still sniff around to find a deal that makes it happen at the right cost. If somehow, Pitts is still there when the Dolphins are on the clock at No. 6, it would be worth checking in to see what it would take to go get him.

It’s the least likely of outcomes for Dallas. It’s also the most mouthwatering.

Pitts is a unique playmaker who has it in him to do for the cowboys what Travis Kelce does for the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes can speak to the value of that kind of target. So can Tom Brady, who has teamed up with Rob Gronkowski over the years with stellar results.

He’s not just the best tight end in the draft. He’s the best receiver on the board.
