Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. DL. Alabama Crimson Tide. 2. Christian Barmore. player. 829

Christian Barmore can be a disruptive force to help the Packers win in the trenches

As it is pretty much every draft, Nick Saban will see several of his Alabama Crimson Tide players go in the first round. Many of these players will be attending the 2021 NFL Draft in-person in Cleveland, including defensive lineman Christian Barmore. Though Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, Patrick Surtain II, Jaylen Waddle will all be coming off the board before him, Barmore is a beast.

While it is a tricky proposition to use a first-round pick on an Alabama defensive player because Saban typically gets the absolute most out of players on his side of the ball, Green Bay could use a pro-ready prospect along the defensive line this year. Barmore can do a little bit of everything on the defensive side of the ball, and we know that he was coached up during his time at Alabama.

Though the Packers are probably not getting a total game-changer in Barmore with this selection, it would be a great value pick if he landed to them at No. 29. Barmore should be coming off the board at some point in the 20s. If he gets past the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 25 with their second 2021 first-round pick from the Jalen Ramsey trade with the Los Angeles Rams, then go get him.

Overall, the Packers would be getting a starting-level player or at the very least a high-end rotational player along the defensive line who can play big snaps for them in big moments as a rookie. The stage will not be too great for Barmore, as he played in a ton of high-profile games during his college career at Alabama. Barmore makes the Green Bay defense better upon arrival.
