2. Drafting Josh Ball

The selection of Josh Ball instantly made headlines for all the wrong reasons. There is no denying the offensive tackle’s talent, but that is not the story here.

Ball was removed from Florida State over allegations of dating violence. He then went to a community college before ultimately finishing his college career at Marshall.

The concerning part here is Ball seemingly lacking remorse for the serious situation that got him removed from FSU. Trying to ignore it happened should have hurt his stock, but Dallas did not seem to care.

The confusing part here is taking a player with this history in the fourth round. There were plenty of capable players at his position still available who would not immediately show up as a distraction.

This is nothing new for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is all about talent over everything. Remember when the team signed Greg Hardy? That was a total mess and this could end up being the same thing all over again.

In fairness, Ball was never charged with any crimes. However, he was removed from school and the reports don’t shed a great light on him for what allegedly happened.
