3. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer is not used to losing, which is why it’s worth wondering how long he’ll last in Jacksonville if he can’t rebuild it quickly. To say he’s off to a clunky start is an understatement, from hiring a controversial strength coach only to fire him when the blowback got strong right away to being the only coach under the sun who thinks Tim Tebow can play football.

That being said, the Jaguars still have the most cap space in the league right now ($39.2 million, according to Over The Cap). So they can jump in if/when an opportunity might strike, and if Meyer wants it an effort will be made.

Jacksonville seems to have plenty enough weapons to set quarterback Trevor Lawrence up for quick success as a rookie. But they don’t have a legit No.1 wide receiver, just a bunch of No. 2 types (Marvin Jones, D.J. Chark, Laviska Shenault) and a rookie running back in Travis Etienne who’s in line for a good share of passing game work.

Meyer could talk himself into an idea the AFC South is there for the taking this year, and at minimum a playoff spot is in play (delusion can be powerful). Why let the division rival Titans or Colts get Jones, at least without making a call with your best offer?
