It is no secret that the White Sox need to address second base ahead of the postseason. They were set in the early portion of the season with Nick Madrigal starting, but those plans effectively blew up after he suffered a season-ending hamstring injury. So, second base is seemingly at the top of Chicago’s wishlist.

Luckily for them, there is a solid option available for them in Adam Frazier of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Even though the Pirates have been situated at the bottom of the NL Central standings, Frazier has consistently proven to be a bright spot on the team. After a solid first half to the season, Frazier was named the starting second baseman on the National League All-Star team, which happened to be his first trip to the Midsummer Classic. And, to the surprise of no one, Frazier shined in the field. That definitely opened the eyes of those postseason-hopeful teams looking for a second baseman.

Entering Monday, Frazier leads the league in hits (118) and plate appearances (402). Through 92 games played, Frazier is slashing .326/.391/.456 while recording four home runs, 31 RBI and 53 runs scored.

The White Sox would be wise to add Frazier, especially if they want to appear in the World Series for the first time since 2005.
