EPL insider thinks Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham after all
While Harry Kane to Manchester City rumors continue to fly, there’s belief that the striker will actually stay with Tottenham this season.
There’s been nothing but stress and drama surrounding Tottenham and Harry Kane this summer. With the forward eyeing a move to a different club, countless reports have surfaced stating he’s one step away from joining Manchester City.
However, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has said he doesn’t want to sell Kane. According to Sky Sports insider David Ornstein, he doesn’t expect City to come in at the 11th hour to try and put a last-ditch offer on the table. This means Kane should end up playing for Spurs in 2021-22.
The expectation is that Harry Kane will play for Tottenham this season
Per Ornstein, it’s simply getting way too late in the process for City and Tottenham to get things done, especially with Spurs reportedly wanting around 200 million Euros for Kane’s services. After City broke the bank to sign Jack Grealish, their board may not be ready to drop such a high amount for another player.
If Kane does end up staying in north London, it’d of course be a major boost for Tottenham’s chances of finishing in the Top 4. Spurs won’t be in the Champions League this year, but their hope is they can get the job done in league play to get back to the highest level of competition next season.
It was only a little over two years ago that Tottenham was in the Champions League Final, ultimately suffering a loss to Liverpool in that game. With Heung-Min Son ready to make plays alongside Kane, the two form quite the duo in the EPL. Luckily for Tottenham supporters, it looks like they can keep balling out together throughout the season.
