Zach Wilson will play better

The poor play of the rookie out of BYU was a large talking point after Week 2. In his second NFL start, Wilson threw four interceptions, and the Jets failed to get in the endzone in the 25-6 loss. The growing pains have been frequent and evident for Wilson and the New York offense, but he has shown flashes of excellent play.

He threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee, including a 53 yard bomb to Corey Davis that helped give New York their first win. Wilson took a step back in Week 6 against Atlanta, but he is a far cry from his Week 2 performance. He will continue to have growing pains, but that comes with the territory of being a rookie quarterback.

The Patriots gave up over 400 yards passing to Dak Prescott. The Jets are coming off their bye week and will be fresher than New England. Wilson isn’t going to replicate his miserable game from earlier in the season. Even if the Jets don’t win, they’ll have a solid offensive day.
