There are several older quarterbacks out there the Saints could target as a stopgap while they develop or look to draft the passer who can take them to new heights. Joe Flacco has just enough in the tank to be worth it.

Flacco, now 36-years-old, had an exceptional run with the Ravens, guiding them to Super Bowl glory at the end of the 2012 season. He was the Super Bowl MVP.

There have been leaner years since then. He left the Ravens after struggles in the latter part of his tenure and went 2-6 with Denver in 2019. Since 2020 he’s gone 0-5 with the Jets.

The results may not be there but those teams have had bigger issues than just their quarterback. If Flacco got a chance to take over a team with a solid defense and a capable rushing attack, like the Saints have, he could tap back into the things that made him successful before.
