San Francisco 49ers Mock Draft – Third Round

Scouting Report. Josh Jobe. 93. player. Pick Analysis. CB. Alabama Crimson Tide. 42

San Francisco has two picks in the third round. While one is technically outside of the top-100, the 49ers can exit day two of the 2022 NFL Draft with a few players who can make a big impact for them right away if they do this thing right. The first player they should take in the third round is Alabama Crimson Tide cornerback Josh Jobe. It is smart to take a Nick Saban defensive back here.

Jobe may have had an injury towards the end of the season for the Crimson Tide, but he has seen everything playing for the SEC’s most preeminent program. Iron has sharpened iron for years for this former Iron Bowl participant. Though Alabama players may not have much room to grow after having been coached so hard under Saban, conversely, they are usually close to a finished product.

John Ridgeway. 42. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. DL. Arkansas Razorbacks. 102. player

Expect for San Francisco’s day two draft plans to be SEC-centric. After taking Kinnard to shore up the offensive line out of Kentucky in the second round and adding Jobe to the defensive backfield by way of Alabama in the third round, this SEC draft-day trio will be completed with the selection of Arkansas Razorbacks defensive lineman John Ridgeway. Look for him to go out and compete.

While Alabama has been the best program in the SEC for well over a decade and Kentucky has been solid for years under Stoops, Arkansas has really found itself under Sam Pittman’s watch. The Hogs were atrocious prior to Pittman’s arrival in Fayetteville. By adding an impact player who played a big part in a cultural turnaround of a former SEC West doormat, this helps out the 49ers.
