The San Francisco 49ers have nine picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, but only two inside of the top 100.

Though the San Francisco 49ers do not have a ton of high-end picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, they should have enough selections to satisfy all of their draft needs.

San Francisco was one win away from getting back to the Super Bowl. However, they lost on the road to the division rival Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, despite it being played in front of a very pro-49ers crowd. With Trey Lance presumably taking over the reins of the offense, look for general manager John Lynch to make the most of his team’s nine draft selections.

Here is who the 49ers could take in their latest 2022 NFL mock draft.

San Francisco 49ers Mock Draft – First Round

The 49ers do not have a first-round pick this year because of the trade they made with the Miami Dolphins to move up to No. 3 to draft Lance out of North Dakota State last year.

If Lynch wants to give Lance his best shot of success in year one as the 49ers starting quarterback, assuming San Francisco ends up trading Jimmy Garoppolo at some point before the 2022 NFL Draft, it would serve him by taking Darian Kinnard No. 61 overall out of Kentucky with their first pick this spring. The versatile lineman was one of the very best in the SEC for years.

Kinnard likely slots in at guard, but he could potentially kick outside to tackle if need be. Not only has he gone up against some of the greatest pass rushers college football has to offer on a weekly basis, but he was part of a Kentucky program that has been building it the right way. Kentucky is no longer just a basketball school, as Mark Stoops has this program humming over in Lexington.

Using one of two top-100 picks on a guard is bold, but Kinnard is one player worth drafting this high.
