3 LIV golfers who could actually win The Open Championship

2. LIV Golf’s Dustin Johnson could win The Open Championship.
Dustin Johnson has finished in the Top 25 in three of the last four major championships. One of LIV Golf’s biggest acquisitions from the PGA Tour, Johnson is still searching for that elusive win at The Open Championship.
With the 2022 British Open returning to the Old Course at St. Andrew’s Golf and Country Club, you know that Johnson will be looking to vanquish some old demons. Johnson was the leader after 36 holes, but collapsed over the weekend and finished in a tie for 49th after back-to-back 75’s on Saturday and Sunday.
DJ has 28 wins as a professional and is third all-time in earnings, but the 38-year-old hasn’t won a tournament since the Saudi Open last February. Johnson has four Top 10 finishes at The Open Championship, including an eighth-place finish last year at Royal St. George’s.
Phil Mickelson may be the most recognizable face among those who’ve joined LIV Golf, but Dustin Johnson is arguably the best golfer at this stage of his career. You cannot discount what DJ did at St. Andrew’s the last time The Open Championship was played there, and he should be in the mix to win his very first British Open.
