Mike Trout just made the World Baseball Classic much more interesting

There is an update Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout’s status was for Team USA and the World Baseball Classic.
Los Angele Angels star Mike Trout was scheduled to start for the American League team at the 2022 MLB All-Star Game, but he is sitting out due to injury. Even though he is not playiing does not mean that he is making some news.
While speaking with the media on July 18, Trout revealed that he will be playing for Team USA at the World Baseball Classic in March 2023. It was also revealed that Trout is going to be Team USA’s captain.
This is the first time that Trout has competed in the World Baseball Classic.

This is tremendous news for Team USA, getting one of the best players of this generation to commit to play for them. They asked in 2017, but Trout passed on the opportunity.
The last World Baseball Classic was held in 2017, which Team USA won after defeating Team Puerto Rico 8-0 in the finals at Dodger Stadium. Current Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman was named the Most Valuable Player of the World Baseball Classic.
This upcoming event was originally scheduled to take place in 2021, but it was postponed until 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This season, Trout is slashing .270/.368/.599 while recording 24 home runs, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored, and 76 hits through 79 games played.
Trout was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Angels on July 18 with left ribcage inflammation.
The World Baseball Classic is months away, and Trout will be wearing the red, white, and blue uniforms of Team USA.
