College football rankings: Losers from AP Top 25 Poll, Week 7
Alabama nearly lost again vs. a Texas team, the Crimson Tide may lose here soon
Although it did not happen in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night, this was the second time Alabama nearly lost this season. The Crimson Tide were brought to the brink by Texas in Austin back in Week 2 and were a bad Jimbo Fisher play call from falling at home to Texas A&M in Week 6. With Tennessee next week, Alabama is probably going to lose a game this year, possibly two or more…
Utah has unofficially been eliminated from the College Football Playoff picture
For as good of a program as Kyle Whittingham has in Salt Lake City, the only championship the Utes have to play for this season is in the Pac-12. Although they have the talent to repeat in their conference, the league looks incredibly strong with Oregon, UCLA and USC all playing great football. However, getting pushed around by UCLA after losing to Florida already means no playoff.
Big Blue Nation should be alright, as it is almost basketball season in Kentucky
After a 4-0 start, it is time to get ready for basketball season in Lexington. While there is no shame in losing on the road to a top-10 team in Ole Miss, losing the following week to South Carolina is not ideal. Keep in mind that Kentucky still has to play major rivals Georgia, Mississippi State and Tennessee this season. How sure are we the Wildcats even win one of these huge rivalry games?
BYU blew a golden opportunity against the Golden Domers over in Las Vegas
Although we can never rip BYU for putting together a soft schedule, the Cougars blew a golden opportunity in their neutral-site affair vs. Notre Dame. Yes, the Irish are starting to find their way under new head coach Marcus Freeman. However, BYU could have easily won this game in Las Vegas. While they go Power Five next season, BYU will never be a Group of Five champion now…
May the winners keep on winning and the losers bounce back after a tough Week 6 slate for them.
