Florida’s Anthony Richardson

It’s not hard to see why Anthony Richardson has the potential to get mouths watering in the NFL ranks. He’s big, strong, and has a monster arm capable of making NFL throws. Like Levis, he’s gotten comparisons to Josh Allen and there’s nothing that’ll get an NFL OC more excited than the prospect of picking up their very own Josh Allen.

The problem is Richardson is very much not Josh Allen. He’s not even a backup-quality NFL quarterback at this stage. The ceiling is very high. The floor is also incredibly low.

In 2022, Richardson has thrown seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has proven he can make huge throws. He’s matched those moments with head-scratching misses and hair-pulling miscues.

If Richardson declares for the NFL Draft, the film from this season will take him out of the first-round conversation. At least it should.

The Florida quarterback needs a lot of work to maximize what he could become.
