Ranking Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown among legendary Eagles QB/WR combos
2. Terrell Owens – Donovan McNabb (2004 – 2005)
Sometimes the stars align for a team. That’s what happened when the Eagles, who had made three straight NFC Championships in a row, signed Terrell Owens to be the guy to get them over the hump. The physical (and colorful) receiver had made waves in San Francisco, having endeared himself to Philadelphians before ever stepping foot there by his antics in Dallas. But when he arrived to a championship-caliber team in 2004, the city knew it’d be a special season.
In his first game, Owens caught eight passes for 68 yards and three TDs. And despite missing the last two games of the season with injury, he finished with 1,200 yards and 14 TDs. Donovan McNabb had a Pro Bowl season, and the pair led the Eagles to a 13-3 record and their first Super Bowl appearance since 1980.
It looked like they were destined to do great things, but after the Super Bowl loss, things fell apart. Owens sought a new contract, which led to fallout with teammates, and this singular magical season was all Eagles fans would get to see.
