4. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Opponent: at Kansas | Time: Saturday, Nov. 5, 3:30 p.m. ET | Spread: OKST Pick

Some people might see this as a direct reaction to Oklahoma State getting full-blown embarrassed by Kansas State last week and, let’s be clear, losing 48-0 on the road will certainly create some perceptions. But that loss only further indicates that the Cowboys didn’t deserve to be a Top 10 team in the first place and they are coming back to earth a bit now. And now they stay in the state of Kansas to face a Jayhawks team that has been falling off since its hot start.

Having said that, the one thing Kansas has been consistent with is still putting up points, even with Jalon Daniels still out of the lineup due to injury. And Oklahoma State’s defense has been extremely problematic as they’ve allowed 122 points combined over their last three games. Kansas’ defense is no good either, but that likely gives us a shootout and, in Lawrence, that makes me believe the Jayhawks can clinch their bowl berth with an upset victory.

3. Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Opponent: at NC State | Time: Saturday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m. ET | Spread: WAKE -4.5

No one should expect Wake Forest to have the type of disaster that the Demon Deacons suffered through last week against Louisville. The six-turnover third quarter was an anomaly that isn’t going to be seen again from Sam Hartman and Co.

At the same time, though, this team now has to rebound by going a little under two hours down I-40 to face NC State in Raleigh. One thing we know for sure is that the Wolfpack defense remains one of the best in the country and that could cause Hartman and the Wake offense to stall out far more than they would like to.

But what really affirms this among our college football upset picks in Week 10 is the fact that NC State might’ve stumbled into a solution to the Devin Leary injury during last week’s come-from-behind win. MJ Morris relieved Jack Chambers and the offense found its life again. Facing a Demon Deacons defense that can be a bit too generous, this is a matchup that could see the Wolfpack back into something closer to Top-10-team form.
