2. Cowboys rumors: Stefon Diggs trade his brother is pushing would be magic

From the moment that Stefon Diggs was reportedly acting excessively angrily after the Bills playoff loss, there have at least been conversations among fans about the possibility of him wanting out of Buffalo. And one non-fan, Stefon’s brother and Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, has been banging that drum hard all offseason.

While it does sound crazy on paper for an AFC contender to trade its unquestioned best wide receiver when there doesn’t appear to be a Plan B on the roster, the truth of the matter is that the Bills are not in the best position with the salary cap. Trading Diggs right now would cost Buffalo an extra $17 million, but with the right timing and negotiations in a trade, they could potentially save money (the cap is a myth, after all).

If the big move that the Cowboys are reportedly working on is a wide receiver trade and a Diggs deal is remotely possible, it’s the best option for Dallas. Yes, it would likely cost more than trading for Hopkins, but that’s the price you pay for a player who has simply been more productive, is a year younger, and isn’t necessarily on the trade block outright.

Putting Diggs with CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup would be extremely enticing for the offense. The Bills wideout’s ability to take the top off of defenses in addition to having a diverse route tree is exactly what the passing attack needs and Diggs is the best possible version of it that the team could even conceivably land this offseason.
