NFL rumors: Odell Beckham Jr. on Aaron Rodgers wish list

Aaron Rodgers is making the Jets work for it.

It was always going to be a journey to convince Aaron Rodgers to sign off on a trade to the New York Jets, of all organizations. The Jets took on Brett Favre near the end of his career, and who knows how that would have worked out had the veteran quarterback not gotten injured during his first season?

Rodgers could be much of the same. The Jets have a solid young core in place — namely with Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall on offense — but Rodgers wants some players he’s familiar with. This includes Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Marcedes Lewis.

As for other free agents he’s interested in, Odell Beckham Jr. remains on his wish list.

Rodgers has long wanted to play with Beckham Jr., impressed by his athletic catches and team camaraderie. He’s missed out on several occasions, as the Packers wouldn’t pay the necessary price tag to acquire OBJ. Now that he has some Tom Brady-like leverage, Rodgers is asking the Jets to make his dream a reality before he signs off on a trade.

Is it getting a little ridiculous? Sure. Is it entertaining as hell? Also, yes.

Now that Brady has retired, Rodgers is finally in a position of complete control. He knows the Jets will do whatever it takes to get him to New York. So why would he stop now?
