March Madness Bracket Predictions – Midwest Region Sweet 16

5 Miami vs. 1 Houston

The Hurricanes have proven themselves to be the ACC’s best team and earned their way to the Sweet 16. Houston is simply a better all-around team and Marcus Sasser should be much healthier after four days of rest leading into this game. The Cougars take care of business.

Pick: Houston

3 Xavier vs. 2 Texas

Sean Miller has had to go to a smaller lineup with Zack Freemantle out for the season and that group has gotten the job done over the first two rounds. The Musketeers will run into issues here as Texas is a much bigger basketball team that is just as skilled as they are. The Longhorns march on.

Pick: Texas

March Madness Bracket Predictions – Midwest Region Elite Eight

2 Texas vs. 1 Houston

The Lone Star State showdown we’ve all been waiting for should be the last game of the weekend on Sunday. This will be a well-balanced matchup as Houston and Texas can throw haymakers at each other for 15 rounds and still be standing. The coaching edge that Houston has with Kelvin Sampson over interim Rodney Terry will be the difference as the Cougars survive to return to their second Final Four in the past three years.

Pick: Houston
